Bangkok Nightstop
No wonder all my teammies who could change flight did so.
Cos this pattern is just too tiring. By the time we reach hotel, it's almost 9pm and our wake up call's @ 5am..... =( Not enough sleeping time & not enough time to walk around.
Changed and was out in 5 mins cos i thought Dennis has reached the hotel lobby, but it turns out he's waiting at another Holiday Inn in Bangkok, a posher one somemore!!! Just when he thought SQ's so rich to put us up in that one LOL.... So i waited another half hour more b4 he came and pick me up and headed for Patpong, the red-light district cum counterfeit goods pasah malam place.
Took a tour around Patpong, absorbing in all the scenes: On side, it's all the pasah malam stores selling counterfeit goods or other local products for tourists. On the other side, it's all the bars where scantily clad women can be seen through entrances dancing on bar tops. And of course, lots of pimps trying to pull you into their bars.
Didn't intend to buy anything but come across this belt that i've been imagining about, decided to buy if it's cheap... But guess what? They're really out to chop tourist! The first price she qouted was 800 baht!!!! SGD equivalent is about $40!!!! KAOZ~ My reaction was so big that when i put it down and hurried away, she pulled us back to negotiate the price. Thk god for Dennis cos with his limited Thai, he's able to talk his way through get the price down to what i wanted: 250 baht (S$10+). It's good to have semi-local around. Dude's an expatriate there but he insist he's just a foreign worker there... Oh well.... LOL....
Dinner's next. And then i bumped into this.
LOL.... Baby Elephant!!!!
I got a big fright. From far it looks like a statue... Then it started moving.... Dennis was telling me, it's the only place in the world where you get to find elephants on their Orhcard-road kind of street. Decided to take a pic but that cost 20 baht to feed and take pic with the ele... I noticed the baby elephant seems very hungry, i wonder if they starve it until any tourist pays to feed it... *shrugs*
But i'm against animal cruelty.
Was hoping to try some nice local Thai food but it was about 11pm in Bangkok b4 we started looking for a dinning place. Too hungry to search intentionally so we just hop into 1 of the bar-dinning place near Patpong to eat.Super huge portions! I guess this place serves mainly Ang Moh customers....
P.S: Am i growing fatter? The term PPS haunts me everyday! *Pulling my hair out*
Visited SLIM @ Royal City Avenue, 1 of the hippest places for youngster in BKK, frequent mostly by uni students. The place and crowd were pretty cool, esp the girls! They're are really slim, pretty and hot. Felt inferior there LOL... Crowd wise, they beat us hands down. But in terms of music, i still prefer SG.
Left shortly, cos was too tired. Only napped 1 hour+ b4 having to wake up and prep for departure again... Zzzzzzzz
Once again, i have to say, P-plate sucks.
Watched The Lake House last night, after my much needed sleep. The plot was okay (predictable?), in fact i like it cos it's Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, my old time favourite couple on screen. However, the twist @ the end wasn't convincing to me. I'm not sure if the director is just trying to woo viewers' heart with a happy ending or is there a logical answer to the time line thingy. Still, i like it very much: Sandra Bullock + Keanu Reeves =) ^.^
Maldives tmr. It is (was?) 1 of the dream places that i wanna visit, but oddly, i am not as excited as i expect myself to be. Perhaps the schedule and the time i know i'll have there, ain't encouraging... Everything's gonna be rush rush again....
Ever since i started flying, my sleep-work-rest-eat time is soooooo messed up.
I'm staying awake and working overnight more often, catching up on sleep during day time... Sometimes i hardly sleep in 24 hours... I'm eating @ weird hours and also eating alot cos when i stay up to work, i need food to keep me going... I'm crossing time zones, trying to adjust myself and still maintain my internal body clock.
It's a little too much change for my body to take in such short a time frame. Signs aren't exactly showing, which why i am both worried and glad. I need to take in more nutritious food!!!!
*Sleeeeeeeeep Deprived*
